What causes neuro-musculoskeletal conditions?

  • Ageing and degeneration
  • Incorrect ergonomic work place set up, sleeping position (such as sleeping on stomach), sports training technique
  • Poor posture
  • Sedentary lifestyle and weak or de-conditioned muscles (e.g. sitting at desk for extended periods of time and lack of exercise)
  • Stress
  • Structural abnormalities from birth (e.g. scoliosis, leg length abnormality and flat feet)
  • Trauma and Sports injuries
  • Unilateral or one-sided activities (such as carrying handbag or infants on one arm)

These factors place stress on the spine and its joints, thus affecting the nervous system, which leads to decreased mobility, inflammation, pain, stiffness and swelling.
